Michael L. DeYoung

We are very pleased to announce that Michael DeYoung has joined the firm! Mr. DeYoung will be available to assist us on many of our Estate Planning and Litigation files. In addition, Mr. DeYoung will serve in the formation of our new Bankruptcy practice.

Stephen P. Willison

Mr. Willison is the firm’s lead trial litigator and managing shareholder. His cases have taken him across the country and have been featured on news programs in Grand Rapids, Detroit and Chicago. Since his first days out of law school, Mr. Willison has been involved in large disputes and complex trials. While his success rate in arson and fraud trials approaches 90%, he has also accomplished hundreds of dismissals, withdrawn claims and “zero settlements.” Some of his cases have even resulted in criminal convictions. Mr. Willison’s defense work has also involved products liability, premises liability and complicated warranty and contract disputes.

Andrew S. Brennan

Mr. Brennan joined the firm on March 16, 2011. He graduated 12th in his class of 350 students at the Thomas M. Cooley Law School. While at Cooley, he received numerous awards and honors. The Cooley administration selected him to serve in the Office of Student Assistance and on the Honor Council. His fellow students awarded him the Atticus Finch Award for Ethics and Professionalism.

Cheryl L. Hellman

Ms. Hellman is a shareholder in the firm and our principal Estate Planning and Probate attorney. She began her career developing an extensive familiarity with Michigan No-Fault Law including PIP Benefits, Third-Party Liability, and Underinsured/Uninsured Motorist coverage issues. She has given numerous seminars over the years involving hot topics in the area of litigation and No-Fault. In addition to continuing her work in these areas, Ms. Hellman has also litigated a number of cases involving insurance fraud, arson and subrogation.
